I'm a huge fan of bund straps. In your case the strap and bund pad work very well together, despite not being made for each other. Yeah, the history of the bund goes back to pilots watches but I do not believe it has to be restricted to pilot watches or N... 

I remember to have read somewhere that Bünd straps were made for pilots because in case of a fire in the cockpit, a watch can easily reach high temperatures as to cause severe burns to the wearers skin. Also, I have seen several adventure movies at which ...
