New v Old
I was on a train heading to work waiting for Rolex to release the new watches and hoping for a the Explorer to return to 36mm and with a white dial. That didn’t happen and while the black looks good I already have a 114270, the new one doesn’t add anything to my collection. I sold a 14270 ‘Blackout’ some years ago which is the only watch that I regret selling, rather than spend on a new Explorer I will save my money for another ‘Blackout’ or a 1016.

Good rundown of differences...
and the funny thing about subjectivity is I think all those differences favor the new one! The slightly beefier case, slightly bolder dial, and more tapered bracelet are all plusses to me. I'm very eager for it.
Flip? No. Buy & add to my collection? Yes...most likely...definitely. Just a matter of time.
