One small point of information...
This post is a tremendous resource, and I offer one small point of information regarding case numbers for Mark IV dials.
The case range noted in the post for Mark IV dials is indicated to begin at about 2.45M, although it is stated that these ranges are estimates only and there could be variation since it is impossible to know exact information from Rolex.
My Red Sub has a Mark IV dial and the case is a bit earlier, 2.36M. From my research I know of a fair number of other Mark IV dials which appear in cases bearing mid 2.3M serial numbers. A few of these, in fact, are listed in the Rolex Case numbers project which is linked in the Vintage Rolex Forum.
Hope this info is helpful to anyone looking at Red Subs.
