Rolex

Ops, I did it again!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m not a big fan of jubilee bracelets on my GMT II, so with a little time in hand, I visited my AD, to place an order for a oyster replacement.
We haven’t spoke in a over six months, and with the Memorial Day upon us, the store was empty, so we had plenty time to talk watches, discuss the current situation, and off course have some whiskeywink
During our conversation we touched bases on my upcoming milestone birthday(fifty years on this planet), and what my future holds in collecting.
To be honest, I’m completely content with my collection, and I don’t really lust for anything from any brand, so I had no intention of buying anything, just order a bracelet and done.
Well, that didn’t happen, since he told me to wait a minute, because he might have something for me…
So after a couple of minutes, he puts this gorgeous White gold Rolex 126619LB in front of me, and I was smitten!
I always liked this reference better than the previous model(had the option to buy it), because it’s more toned down and that’s a big plus in my books.
I’m fully aware the importance of the previous reference, being the first white gold, first maxi case, first ceramic sub…but it was just a little to loud for my taste.
Nevertheless, I pulled the trigger, and I made it minewink))
There’s not much I don’t like about this sleeper as far as Rolex goes, maybe the polished center links and clasp, but after wearing it for a while, it will tone down the same way as my Batman GMT II, with the micro scratches, so I don’t worry about it to much.
The weight, the balance, the fit, it’s just perfect for my wrist!
So there you have it, my latest and greatest…

P.S. I forgot to order the Oyster bracelet!🤷🏻‍♂️
