are rugged and waterproof ready to go into the wild. Sapphire case backs are for dainty watches that spend a lot of their time in safes. A see through back just creates another weak point in a watch. Frankly, I would put the solid back on any watch if it came with one. I like the greater heft of the solid back and never look at the movement. If I had a minute repeater I would make an exception.
Rolex movement
I know this is treasonous but I do wish Rolex would make and offer a sapphire crystal case back as an option. Probably this comment will get me thrown out the window but it would be nice to see the it. Cheers

But for me, the Rolex movement just isn’t that interesting to see. It’s solid. Highly reliable. Well-engineered. Just like the engine in my Golf. I never look at that either. Why do you want to see it?

Reliable - forget it. First the Golfs had problems with the timing belt, than they changed for chain and had the same problems.
