Rolex? Really?
I am laughing...
I have worn a Rolex since the ripe old age of 13, since way back in 1968. It is an Air-King - 5500. A tool watch if there ever was one.
I would guess a fair number of folks on this forum didn't even know what a Rolex was in 1968. Was I a Millionaire then? LOL
Anyway, my Mrs. and I were discussing her Date-Just the other night, and how well it has performed for her since 1985 or so.
I told her, If I was going to go out into the unknown, the only watch I would consider out of my collection is that Air-King.
Forget money... Let's discuss what it really important.... Fail Safe Reliability.

I don't associate Rolex as a millionaires watch.
But more of an accomplishment watch. You've worked hard to get to point x and it's a good watch to buy and celebrate and wear for the rest of your life type watch. I feel that a lot of Rolex collectors aren't like us they are not acquiring several of them...

Rolex makes some of the best (if not the best) watch for the price (MSRP). You don't need to be a millionaire to buy one. The supply gets caught up by dealers, including authorized dealers, who hoard them and sell them on the grey market. Everyone rags on...

Agreed. The interest rate pendulum is swinging back the other direction. How far and quickly it swings will impact luxury goods.
