Sacrilege?

How do people feel about putting a modern Rolex bracelet on a vintage Rolex? I would ordinarily be against it, but I’m seriously considering a 16800, and the original bracelet doesn’t have enough removable links to fit my very thin wrist. (I’ve found this to be a problem with other vintage bracelets.) The last photos below is of the watch on the original bracelet; the first and second are of the watch on the same glide-lock bracelet I have on my 126600. Grateful for this group’s thoughts.

There's another solution

Get a watchmaker who can remove the 'non-removable' links, and wear the good old bracelet as you should! I've never done it, but I know that our dear Lange forum moderator, CR, has. Ask him who he used; they're experts.

I don't see this as an issue at all...

...as long as you keep all of the original parts to all of the watches...

Thank you my friends…

I have pulled the trigger and will retain but not use the original bracelet, thus retaining the option of Mr. Blau’s solution. Better photos to follow.

The bracelet should be comfortable. Case in point 9315 folded links original to 1970 93150 solid links closer to 1980s.

I often put a more modern bracelet than the original on models like 1680 and 5513. I guess this is still more in the vintage relm. Below we see the 9315 buckle smooth vs 93150 indented. ...

Have you tried removing the wet-suit extension link?
