Seeing green.

After viewing the recent posts on these fantastic looking vintage Rolex watches, I decided to try my luck this afternoon to see what was available here in HK.I saw some 5513s,1680s, frecciones and some with beautiful patina and many red letters together with matching stratopheric prices .

After a couple of hours of hot and sweaty browsing and getting more confused I decided to call it quits and headed over to the Peninsula for some afternoon tea with my other half.

 Afterwards, she wanted to do some shopping so I walked around the lobby and of course without much effort ended up in a watch boutique.I wasn't looking for anything in particular but out of the blue I asked the saleman if he had this particular piece in stock.He said," let me check "and went into a back room and after what seemed like an eternity he came out holding something  in his hand."This is the only one we have and it was going to go to another customer" but he'll let me have it first.

Well, I'm put on the spot but I had no hesitation as I remember a great review of it by our very affable moderator Amanico and I had also tried on a friend's piece a few weeks ago and it felt and looked perfect for summer wear.

I walked out the shop a happy man wearing the new watch and it's still on my wrist as I type.

Vintage will have to wait , I guess.
