SS Daytona 116520 waiting list diminishing?

I have to admit....got poisoned in the Rolex forum, although not onto vintage...yet.

Tried calling 3 various ADs + 1 US boutique, 1 Lucerne AD to ask for SS 116520, summarizing the answers.

1. Have you purchase with us before? This watch is extremely limited, wait for 3 months, can take your name.

2. Sorry, not sure when we can have one in store, can take your name.

3. Rolex boutiques get 1 pair every month, call us before you come, can take your name.

4. Lucerne AD said they can offer them. "Please be informed that those watches are not always available due to the high demand. We kindly ask you to check the availability when you will be in our store in Lucerne."

I managed to find an AD who had 1 black one in stock, was told I'm lucky, just happened to call at the right time to the right sales person, woo-hoo!

So I paid for it to secure it first, but haven't try it on my wrist to tell if I will take it....we "Watch Affectionos" need to wear it to feel.

I have been doing a lot of research on this watch lately and it seems to be 2+ years of waiting list, some said 4+ years in Europe. It's even worst in Hong Kong from some websites, like almost impossible to get one.

Now it's kind of drop to few months....wonder why? Demand lower or Supply higher?

I appreciate if anyone with similar encounters can share your feedback. Thank you very much.

The 16520 was very tough to find. With long waiting lists.

It is less the case with the 116520. And if you don't want to wait 3 months, you og on any collectors market, and you will find one in... 10 minutes! Best, Nicolas

here in Brazil is quite easy to find a 116520 in virtually any AD. The AD are forbidden to expose any ss daytona in the window, but if you enter the store and ask, they will have in stock. Cheers Daniel

Rolex for various reasons for a long time: volume, too many fakes, can't tell the differences for some of the models and many other brands copying their design. There are 2 reasons I am looking at this watch. I like to have 2 or more watches of each brand...
