Firstly, let me assure you that this watch is genuine. It was left to my dad in 1983 by my grandad and had previously been left to him by his brother. I never thought for a moment that anyone on here would think this watch was fake and am mortified that this is the case. I fully admit that my first post on this site a week or so ago was made with the intention of alerting people to the sale because I love my Dad and wanted to help him (he didn't ask me to). But affter that, I became genuinely interested to know why this watch was being valued at £25,000 - £35,000 on the auction site when the ebay watch went for $100,000. Posting that question on some watch forums led to me being told that the dial and watch were atypical for a 7923 and has led me to some obsessive researching on this watch. When I came to realise it might be truly unique, I became even more obssessed and wanted to share this with people. I am not going to lie and pretend I didn't also think this might increase interest in the watch but this was no longer my primary motivation. I now REALLY want to know if this is a special watch. I am not sure how many future contributions I can make to this forum because a few weeks ago, I had never even head of Tudor Watches. But I do now feel I know a lot about the 7923! Finally, I am also mortified that my post may have brought into question the integrity of the auction house selling this watch and think that deleting this whole thread may be the best thing. Again, I apologise. Is there a way for me to report my own post and get the whole thing removed or could you do it for me please?
