Yesterday I had the opportunity to see a rare bird! actually, i saw just a picture posted by a friend, and I asked to him if i could share it with you guys. we are in front of maybe the rarest dial for the ref. 1665, a dial I've never seen in person, but ...  

I will have to give it a closer look. I can't say I know much about this model. Best Bill

.....this is certainly new on me. Reminds me a little of the 168000......one of the shortest production runs of any Rolex yet the collectors just don't see it as interesting. Would be interesting to have the 1665 type side-by-side with a standard font to ... 

white ones only: MK0 (Lemrich&Cie) MK1 (Beyeler) MK2 or Rail Dial (Stern) MK3 (Beyeler) there is another couple of MKs, 4 and service...not so interesting for a comparison. afaik the Big White known are less than 5... ...  

the plots look further in too, not dissimilar to the radial 1675! R :)
