at the time of my purchase I already had WG Rolex pieces and just wanted a platinum one so I didn't consider a WG DD at all. Only competitor was the Platona, actually my favorite when approaching the issue. But when I saw both side by side I discarded the platona as the DD40 is just the superb piece and perfect watch on my wrist. And the ice blue dial is lovely when not disturbed by sub counters.....
