Wish lists...
As BW2019 is just around the corner, here is my Rolex wish list. Note that I do not own any Rolex watches, but in the last 1.5 years, I have purchased, and am most fond of, two Tudor watches.
So without further ado:
Obviously, Rolex must address its major issue of steel sport watch availability to those of us who have not previously spent tens of thousands of dollars on Rolex watches... if Rolex is to attract a new generation of customers, this is a huge problem. Having said that,
1) I would love to see a modern version of the Rolex 6541 Milgauss, matte honeycomb black dial, without the inelegant modern maxi-case, maxi-hands and maxi-indices. If Rolex were to produce this, it could well be the first Rolex watch that I buy (assuming a dealer would give me the time of day, vide supra). Needless to say, use the expected modern movement with 70 hr PR.
2) I would love to see the Black Bay 58 produced without gilded bezel, hands and indices. Furthermore, the hands and indices on this 58 iteration should be "de-maxified", akin to the more refined and elegant hands and indices used for the 2018 Black Bay GMT. I would buy this as well!
Do you see a pattern to my wish list? Do you readers second my emotion? (shameless Smokey Robinson reference)
So you see, my wishes are simple, not absurd, and completely doable. If only...
