YACHT-MASTER II – with dark blue leather strap
The
Yacht-Master II is rarely seen on this Forum. I have had the opportunity to wear
one for a few days and on a sailboat this weekend. Somewhat to my surprise it I
like it a lot. I think it looks the best with a dark blue strap borrowed from
another chronograph. It is less shiny and more discrete. The weight is also
reduced and it sits well on the wrist.
The count down mechanism works very well and can be more useful than
many other complications. It calibrates easily and has a type of flyback
function. Amazing. I took some pictures with a spinnaker and Kevlar sail as a
background to give the right ambience. The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms joins in on
two pictures.
The YMII use a slightly wider strap than the Daytona. A strap like the one on the FF
would be perfect, but it is too wide. If you know where I can get one, please send
me a PM.

it is true....
By: Baron - Mr Red : May 24th, 2010-10:50
there are not many posts about the YMII. Its not the most popular Rolex. It makes me wonder whether in 20 or 30 years time, collectors will be paying a fortune for the YM in teh same way they are paying for the "unpopular" Daytona. I am not a fan of the w...
