Is the first vintage watch I ever bought. I found one of the “Striped” Brancard Princes at a High-End watch dealer in NYC. Had to have it! Good news is that I still love that watch. The bad news is that it is worth nowhere near what I paid for it over 20 ... 

try and find an all original perfect specimen with untouched dial. They still go for a fortune As regards the striped, yes they were faked a lot but I think most experienced collectors could tell the difference The dealer in London should be able to tell ... 

I recollect one example in the ‘devil’s den’ too...guess an yellow gold prince but not the same time as your pic. I was very much intrigued by that - unusually Rolex from yesteryears! Best, Mahesh.,
