But wait, Im not sure I can agree with you totally, yes it does require a spring to be wound just like a traditional movement from a Patek, ALS ect either by manual wind or with a rotor. The only thing not mechanical is the regulation of the escapement by means of an EM brake other than that I think we should say its 100% mechanical watch with just em regulation of the escapement. I guess one could argue its best to be traditional is these watches instead of innovative but I dont consider this a knock at all for an out of the swiss/german boys club maker like seiko to distinguish itself by its innovation instead of trying to be the same as the swiss and germans. I guess the same arguments can be made about the new electric supercars compared to straight mechanical competitors.
