Seiko

Hi Fred. Yes, the dial was a concern for me as well

When it was released, all the articles for this watch showed zoomed-in pics of the dial, which really emphasizes the GS patterns. From arms length, I mostly notice the radial/spiral pattern. It gives off an impression similar to the Peacock SBGJ227 dial more than anything else. Even about 6-12 inches away, I can’t really pick out the individual lettering, so its not distracting. It just comes across as a complex engraved dial.

You’re spot on about the blueberry color of the rotor (pic attached). Since the Green GMT has a yellow rotor and the Red GMT has a cool sorta tri-color rotor, it would have been nice to get a slightly different color on the back. Blue-green would’ve made it very pleasant. But, I have no regrets. The dial and case design are superb in my opinion, and the movement excellent.

Since this is my first GS, I was surprised by the side-to-side play in the bracelet.  It’s like maybe 0.02mm or 0.03mm of looseness between the links, reminds me of how some of the hollow-link Rolex bracelets feel.  New Rolex bracelets are quite “tight” in comparison, and I would think that Seiko could achieve the same tolerances if they wanted.
