Perfection vs character.
At these price points it is very hard to beat the lower end Swatch group brands (Certina,Tissot,Mido, Longines, ...) in quality for money.
Many of these watches are however mainstream designs where you have to look at the brand name on the dial to separate one from the other.
With Seiko you get a bit less technical perfection but a more unique look that is recognizable immediately as a Seiko.
That being said,in terms of robustness and reliability you cannot fault a Seiko !!

Interesting timing as I saw this one earlier today. Not cheap but amazing case and dial work, almost enough to make you forget the usual date and crown alignment. Next to my sinn 103 for comparison, the case was slimmer and more compact than I had anticip...

'Committed' would be too strong a word, but at this level/type of watch I've found myself becoming really partial to Sinn. Seiko would have been the other obvious contender, but Sinn's captured my heart.

A bit heavy...I wish these brands would have a glide lock type clasp...my wrist swells and shrinks like mad.
What i feared. I hear you about glidelock. Makes my SD43 wearable all day and I don;t even feel it.
If watch companies want their watches to stay in their customers wrist, they should make glidelock or microadjust clasps standard on all sport/casual models. Having said that, i may still get an mm300 some day
