and I only mentioned the 5119 and 5196 as I thought you were considering purchasing a manual winding Calatrava. The 5127 is a lovely Patek  and you should really keep it. I also think you should add the Grand Seiko SBGW231 (like mine) to your collection and alternate between wearing both watches.  Yes, one can argue that one does not need more than one dress watch but I beg to differ. All my watches are dress watches because I like the discreet elegance that a dress watch portrays. So yes, to me, you having one automatic and one manual winding watch would be perfect.


I love steel personally as I do not like watches with heft. Many might disagree.  Also when i buy a watch, I buy it for the movement, dial, hands, case shape, lugs and would be partial to steel over any precious metal. Gold of course is softer and can attract scratches more easily than steel but one should be careful anyway irrespective of the metal content of the watch.
