Seiko

That's a good question

The thing is I have owned many many watches from across all the Swiss brands and I feel seiko makes some great bang for buck divers that can compete against the Swiss fairly easily. Would I still have purchased it if I saw and tried it on before hand? The answer is a solid YES!! This piece is very unique and being 2000 of them makes it that much nicer. I was just expecting grand seiko quality for the price they are charging. I fed like they reused their cheaper box, watch cushion and manuals where they could have stepped up their game. The one thing I noticed about grand seiko that stood out like a sore thumb when comparing to say Rolex or IWC is the bracelet. It's very flimsy and cheap feeling and I think that's just how the the Japanese design them. It's a different approach to watch making. Here is the other thing. I bought a JLC deepsea chrono at some point. Also never seen it but love the brand and thought to my self how can it possibly be bad? So I can say from personal experience that it had the worst lume of any watch out there and the movement being all nice and in house and high end gave me problems when setting it. I would set the minutes and hours and as I pushed the crown back in the minute hand would move slightly. I found that to be much more bothersome than the box seiko just used for this watch! So once again, yes I would have purchased it and I think all brands have some flaw here and there! All except one and that Rolex! Never had a bad Rolex or experience with Rolex.
