Seiko

Yup

I think it all comes down to their vertically integrated manufacture process. They reuse parts from cheaper pieces and make them work on higher end ones to save costs. It's pretty apparent. In the package we received the blue box is clearly from a grand seiko but with Seiko branding. The cushion and all the papers are from their 200-500 dollar lines. The strap makes absolutely no sense in my eyes! Why in the world would you release a dust magnet like this to the public? It is very comfortable though!! The dial and hands and crystal are all grand seiko quality. The finishing on the case is nice, I don't know if it's ziratsu or just machined though. The movement also confuses me! Why do they produce unregulated movements? I think they priced it high knowing a lot of people will resell them on the secondary market so they limit the profits to keep the value up. If they priced it at $2500 and people resell for 5k they just lost out on money so they went in the middle to reap in more cash knowing others will pay more. They are also milking the 2000 LE part. It's actually 4000 since they have a different model number in Japan. Overall this was a very interesting watch at Baselworld but when you dissect the information it's hard to really love it and hard to really blame it for the price! I think for all the owners it's that internal feeling of "man this watch is so nice and different but damn did I get ripped off here price wise"!
