My wife also had a necklace which I don't remember how/why but I stashed in a binder during a move, and thought it was lost, for years...one day we decided to do spring cleaning, housekeeping and found it. It was exactly what you described, Eureka moment....

Recently happened with my first Sistem 51 - thought it was long lost but then my wife found it in a box somewhere. Must have dropped there during one of the many moves 🤷🏻♂️
