is normally not aggressive. But I wouldn’t get to close to one either. They will usually break off from confrontation with humans. Mama bears will become aggressive if they think their cubs are threatened.

bears are not tame. In the Smokey Mountains near where I live our encroachment on their territory, stupid people feeding them, and the availability of garbage to rummage through has caused them to lose their fear of humans. You will see idiots in the park...
