We drove to a neighborhood we have never visited, not knowing what we would find. As we slowly cruised along, interesting things surfaced almost immediately, like this mosaic on the side of a commercial building. Followed by what looked to be a home-decor...  

is definitely my favorite this time around, it does have a distinctly spooky character to it!....

but I’m not kidding when I say that the spectrum of foliage that you show on posts such as this almost strikes me as scenes from Avatar in a land whose natural habitat almost defies the imagination. Wow, and I thought I did good and widened my perspective... 

Palms look like this if the fronds aren’t cut off as the new ones grow at the top. The old fronds make a mess but good homes for rats … Flowers of the crimson bottlebrush Fruit of the Marah oreganus “Manroot” ...  

Last question: what is this flower that you said was hot on the retina? ...
