Had the 850 T5R and later the 850 Turbo. I remember the estate versions were entered into the BTCC and were jokingly called the "flying bricks", though they never won anything. I remember the factory in Ghent produced for both Volvo and Renault?
No, I was not in student there. I was doing my post graduate studies in UK at that time, when the 850 stopped production and the S70s replaced it. I visited Ghent during my student days. Once we drove there, and another time we took a train from Paris.

Oh yes, the crazy front wheel spins.
I had to rotate my tires front to back every 2 months to make sure even wears. I also had my first highway tire puncture with that car. Lotsa of girlfriends then too, swinging 90s.... - Best, Horo
