Birds, butterflies & borders, Part 1
We walked the San Diego River's northwestern bank this morning, unintentionally! Traffic was tough going West, so we turned North. Then we saw some traffic jamming up the roads from the North so we went East, circled around to the South and came West again. Whew! We spotted about 20 police cars within a couple miles radius, due to:
1. a guy driving up the bike path in a truck, then going the wrong way head on into traffic coming across the river bridge.
2. We didn't get the low-down on this incident but it might have been something going on in that van.
3. It couldn't just be sleeping in the van, because that's not the city's primary concern... how about a floating encampment that seems to have run aground in the very low tide this morning?

Anyway, with all this commotion we managed to see a few birds, then headed off to run some errands which took us down to the border (Mexico) where we snooped around a County park campground with luxury (?) yurts and other crazy stuff 100 yards from the border fence.

Border photos follow from here: Thirty bucks for a tent or camper site, and $60 or $70 for a yurt (sleeps 6-8). Showers extra! We went to a bird & butterfly space, but found much of it under "habitat restoration" which means lots of ugly orange fencin...

Fantastic walk again and quite like the idea of the yurts - a bit surprised by the location, though 😊
It was very orange
and distracting but fortunately some of the wildlife were ignoring the fencing (birds & butterflies can do that) ...
Great pics Mike! Least desirable T-bird ever made! Side pipes, hood ornament and the red wheels can't offset the pudgy styling or the battering ram bumpers. However I do like how
the funky yellow of the car goes with the yellow stripes on the pavement and how the red of those wheels ties in with the taillights. Good photo of a bad car! ;-)

It was a struggle except for a couple birds on the river who virtually posed for me
