A fellow appreciator of rugs!
I have two rugs my parents had nomads weave for us when we lived in Iran during the time of the Shah. It's fascinating to see similarities in some of the geometric patterns that are used in the rug you show here.
I had the rugs professionally cleaned about 15 years back, the owner was trying to figure out how to appraise them before taking them. Once he got an understanding of them, I still get poked every year or two now about whether I'd be interested in selling.
