My mom would agree with you that #1 of your post is very therapeutic. My parents living room is starting to look like a greenhouse with all her orchids. I could see how polishing shoes would also be good for decompressing, although I prefer #3 better! #4 ... 

Yes, dogs are indeed man's best friend. Malcolm Gladwell said in his book "what the dog saw" that dogs see humans as a gigantic tennis ball, and I totally agree. They mimick, taunt, beg and amuse me all the time. #4 will come soon if I get to go to Bali, ...

....I can't believe I only discovered the 'cold-water to stop the green ring' about 6 months ago...I prefer mine really hard boiled, with a sprinkle of salt...simple pleasures, indeed.

...using Martha's method by leaving the eggs in the hot water for 20 minutes after boiling and removing from heat. I will have to try that next time and see how I enjoy the texture versus my 12 minute egg. Do you like deviled eggs? That's my all-time favo... 

...Eggs. I haven't had those for ages! My grandmother use to make them with curry and yes, I loved them. Never made them myself, as the flavour wouldn't have matched hers.
