Fireworks on the 4th of July! Hello All! It was Independence Day holiday here in the United States where we commemorate our Declaration of Independence of July 4,1776. Usually people celebrate the day by spending time with family, barbecues, and of course...

long fireworks show ! Great captures, Ming ! Your shots seem to be from a vantage point and in a wide open space. Seem almost in line with the fireworks !

I don't shoot much at night but you guys have inspired me to go out and try something new and different. It was a nice fireworks show, from where we were we can see a lot of it going off in city. HAGWE flamenco! -MW ...

Thanks Nico! I don't do many hight shots either but after seeing so many other PuristS who post these cool night shots on the forum (you know who you are! :) ) I've been going out and taking some shots. It's interesting with long exposures, you don't know...  

Many of them looks like floodlit palm trees in a garden. Not easy to get the shots you achieved. A rigid tripod is a must and the shutter speed. Too quick and you don't capture the full " explosion " . Too long an exposure and the burst will be " smeared ...

I used an old Tamron 200mm. zoom lens with Nikon adapter. The lens is still with me. Cheers,dreamer

Really beautiful photos. I like the ones with different details like sparkles, trails, flairs and they are hard to capture without smearing the details. Fireworks bring out the child in us. Nice. Andrew

Nice view of the LA area fireworks. The Vegas one was nice too, I didn't have a chance to video it because it's nearly the same as the NYE fireworks. Regards, ED-209
