Thank you. Many competition shooters are using 6.5mm. From what I have read, it has a magical resistance to the wind. I think the light recoil and After I develop a proper load, I think this is going to be my go to caliber for hunting and target shooting.
The barrel has a 1:8.7" twist. The loads will have to be hot to stabilize the 140 grain Berger VLD bullets. I am thinking 3100 fps with H4350 powder. With a little trial and error, I hope I will find its sweet spot!

You picked an outstanding rifle/cartridge combo'. The 6.5X284 is a screamer w/o the recoil. There are some very high coefficient bullets for the 6.5 out there. If your rifle chamber can handle a 3.1 OAL load, it will perform way beyond expectation. I read...

Very nice set up for a long range rifle. I'm intrigued by the bolt design of the Blaser LRS, the push/pull straight bolt action feels different than a typical Remington 700PSS where it has a standard rotate and pull bolt action. Looking forward to hearing...

I had the same action in 300 win mag. The bolt pull was very smooth, with quick follow up shots. But, I didn't send many follow up shots down range - it kicked like a mule. I will post a review when I finally get a chance to shoot it. John
