Whilst impressive...
...their achievement pales by comparison to the achievement of the author of the article. Given that we have yet to reach 2013 (and may never reach it, if you happen to hold with the Mayans..), it would seem that the author - Nicholas St Fleur - left Cornell in 1913. His journalisitc talents are pretty sharp (dare one say 'razor sharp'??) for an alumnus who must be ~109!

I'm guessing that the '13 means the author is in the graduating class of 2013
