Woke up too early!
I got up, made a cup of tea,
Took a sip, then poured it into a travel cup.
I climbed into the truck at 5:20 am and headed off to the Costco gas station where I found NO LINE as expected. Yay! Gas was 30 cents cheaper than elsewhere, not counting 4% rebate.

On the way home I took surface streets to see how badly they are torn up from burying a new pipeline (for the last 4 years!). Badly torn up, and businesses shuttered from lack of visitors. Sigh.
Got home, poured gas from can into the hybrid Volt, after figuring out how to open the flap ... I only fill it every few months; we're 90% battery on this car.
Walked the property,
stopping on my way to feed the birds.
Said hi to Dug, the neighbor's giant tortoise. He's bored too.
Checked the tomatoes at 6:19
Hundreds of green tomatoes on the vines, but enough are ripe for one day.
I picked a couple dozen and put them on the windowsill to complete their ripening...
while moving yesterday's pick to the "eat me now" tray.
Back in to choose a watch from the half-dozen whose batteries I changed yesterday.
Still not 7 am? Gads.
Why all this early morning activity? My wife is out of town visiting her sister, otherwise I might still be asleep. Maybe I will go change the filters on our heater & A/C system...

My point in this post was to uncover who are the early birds and who are sleeping til 9am
I started out young working at a newspaper which gave me the early habit, then worked with a bunch of auto mechanics starting at 6:30 or 7:00, then for a company in the UK 8 hours time difference ... so I have almost always been up before sunrise. Mike

I'm confident it won't happen, but if you ever decide to sell your Astron, I'll buy it in a heartbeat! It's to this day the Seiko I regret not getting the most! Thanks for the wonderful pictorial, cheers, Filip

...but I am really looking forward to BLTs this summer...
