Wow, look at the last photo!
Wow! Look at the last photo! The car even clears the concrete curbs in parking lots. Even my four door "family" car will sometimes scratch on those concrete curbs. I park far and away from them after painfully learning my lesson.
FYI - The current generation of Corvette cars is known by Corvette enthusiasts as the "C6" version. Perhaps one of the largest differences between the C6 and the previous C5 version is the change to the design of the headlamps. Many loyalist Corvette owners were not pleased with the change to fixed headlamps and many felt the pop-up headlamps were more authentic; this has actually sparked some debate among Corvette owners. Personally, I understand the need to change to the new design, because in the C6, High-intensity discharge xenon headlamps are more easily applied in a fixed headlight.
How did you like the handling and cornering of the car? The next time you're in Southern California or Northern California, you might consider to take your car on some of the trademark twisty canyon roads there where car movies and car commercials are filmed.
Thanks for the great photos and the introduction to the Corvette!
Fun post!

I like that in the one picture your shirt matched the color of the car. Yellow is one of my favorite colors for a sportscar. I enjoyed your travelogue with the car at various scenic locations along the coast. I hope you had fun in California! Cheers, Daos
Handling is great!

During the day I would go 80mph, at night I would go 100 to maybe 105mph max. Anything faster would run too high a risk of inviting tickets, and I also know I wouldn't be able to respond fast enough=) You are right, for an US car, it is quite amazing!

your right Jon, you need to be used to high speed to do it safely and react in time. i have been lucky in life as most of my working life i drove high performance cars and rode bikes. when you get to 130 plus every curve is a bend even in a car and my fas...

...is super successful at Le Mans. I think only Aston Martin has beaten them in the GT1 class. Which isn't bad for a bump-stick engine (even if it is humungous). Fun car to drive, but like all these things ('things' being huge, fasts cars) you need a lot ...
