The perpetual you are referring to is the modern version of the ‘Ludwig’ perpetual first introduced in 1996 for the 150th anniversary of UN. It was unique because it could be set forward and backwards using only the crown, they then went on to add the GMT +- feature for UN’s line of GMT Perpetuals. The original Ludwig was released in a Limited edition of 150 YG, 150 RG and 150PT and was smaller at 38mm - the new piece is SS and larger.
The Freak is a carousel tourbillon and the original was absolutely groundbreaking in 2001 when the first Freak was introduced, being the first watch using silicon technology and a completely new take on a watch movement - both are stunning and high points in UN’s illustrious history. Did he show you how to wind/adjust the Freak? Amazing piece.
They are two favourites from my collection.
