I recall having read somewhere ....
... that this is the old coat of arms of the city of Le Locle. Nowadays, they have three pine trees on three hills, together with colourful shields. Unfortunately, I was not able to verify this online, cannot find any database of old crests. In 1846, when Ulysse Nardin was founded, Le Locle still belonged to Prussia, which ruled the district of Neuenburg.

Do you know what is the interpretation and the origin of the old Ulysse Nardin logo/seal/herald? The pine tree standing on the hillside with a rising(?) sun and the Ulysse Nardin Locle banner.
