I don't know which brand made the first Wristwatch Perpetual Calendar, and I didn't mean it was U.N. I just said that the perpetual calendar released by U.N in 1996 was really revolutionnary, as it was the first TO ALLOW the owner to set the date forward,... 

Indeed, their development of a "forward/backward" movement is indeed a very good feature IMO. One reason why I bought the Michaelangelo UTC. This together with the second time zone pushers makes it one of the best travel watches imo.

... already in 1925. To be more exact, this had been a tiny ladies' pocket watch with perpetual calendar that was modified to be worn on the wrist. A few years later, Patek offered gents' watches with perpetual calendar,also modified from older pocket wat...

Welcome here, firstly! The window at 6 shows the indication of the year. There is no leap year, but you don't need it on this watch, as there is the year indication, and all the Date informations are synchronized. Best, Nicolas

Hi Nicolas, Thanks for this great post on an under-the-radar gem IMO. I prefer the Sonata, of course (it remains my favorite UN), but I think the gray GMT Perpetual is fantastic! Both watches together would make a wonderful pair! Although, I've seen this ... 

A pure piece of Poetry! But the magic is on this perpetual calendar side, IMO. It is still an unique watch, due to its special perpetual calendar... Now that I'm thinking about it, the Sonata and the Freak are also unique... Damn, I shouldn't think too mu...

For years I have wanted to own a UN Perpetual. I like the aesthetics, and I love the friendliness of the movement. If I had the necessary sort of funds available, I would probably instead spend a little more and choose the Sonata. But I cannot think of an...

You hate them that much? Personally, I can't think of this perpetual calendar without these hands... It is part of the design, of the personality of the watch, IMO. But I agree that this strong personality may not be everyone's taste. Thanks for the nice ...
