I just got this magazine with a picture of the model you are referring to....
True,different ball game here,the watch is plesant and the new more aggressive layout and design suits the style of the new case much much better.
The 2 counters are very nice and integrated ,nice contrasting frame and grained dial for better contrast,now the fonts and layout of the numerals are the same so to avoide style clashes and sense of clutter.
Lovely the choice of the ribbing on the bottom plate and beautifu date without the excessive opening for the other numbers.
The nod to the old sonata is much appreciated with the regulator on top(very nice to see it spinning),Ulysse Nardin logo on the right,and the date.
Very appropriate and elegant the gold accents dotted throughout.The hands are all in harmony and I like the contrast of the blue ones on the alarm counters.
Even though still busy the printing on the rehaut is not so disturbing.
Well I will eat my hat a bit...this combo works very well,the case though remains big and too present for me..but on bigger wrists........

That is what I thought... That may be the best version for the latest Sonata.

The final picture is most convincing.
I appreciate your insight on the new model. We'll all agree your sample is ultra special, but even against the other existing Sonata variants, the new design comes up short aesthetically. It's very bold, and I'm not sure the alarm movement is best feature...
