My 6099 from 1958, Cal 1003 inside, and an interesting gold-flecked effect dial. It's hard to photograph the way it sparkles in the light. The VC boutique watchmaker confirmed the case is unpolished. This is the case shape that inspired the Historiques Ul...  

As an owner of two Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thins, both with a similar movement (your VC has much finer finishing and bar springs instead of standard springs) as the one in your VC. These are great watches and treasures to behold!

Here's a shot of the movement. This one hasn't got a Geneva Seal, but my understanding is that VC were a bit erratic with applying it and it doesn't mean the finishing is any different. I'd like to get one of the platinum Master Ultra Thins, stunning move...  

Hmm. I'm surprised about the lack of Geneva Seal. Maybe earlier in those days they didn't have these ultra thin movements stamped with the seal. I really don't know. Regardless, it's a beautiful piece!

I absolutely love both the original historic piece that you have and the re edition. I usually prefer the original vintage versions but I have to admit that in this specific case both appeal to me equally I was lucky to see the platinum re edition some ye... 

The former owner must have kept it very carefully in a dry environment. The dial is pristine, the gold-flecked speckles are just very hard to capture in a photo - when you move the watch they scintillate as they catch the light. The watchmaker at the VC b... 

Is the dial texture and sparkle similar to what VC do with their modern Excellence Platine line? Enjoy this beauty often! Daniel

Those Excellence Platine dials are made out of platinum that has some sort of frosting/texturing technique as far as I know. I've seen a couple of them in the flesh and they are among the best of the current VC line up. On this watch I understand that it ...
