I am the owner of the blue dial Arabic Overseas Chronometer and I love it. While I wouldn't classify any VC as a "beater," this one works well whether I'm wearing a suit or dressed casually.

I've had three of the 1st Generation Overseas Chronometers and will likely always have one in the collection. They are wearable in any situation... VC Overseas at 6,964m On Piste OS Chronograph down the trail...

It's a fairly robust watch.
It houses a Girard Perregaux movement that is the same one G-P puts in its sports watches. When I owned one, I never worried about its being bumped, and it was frequently bumped quite vigorously without ill effect. I would not dare to do that sort of thin...

I prefer the Gen 1 OS watches due to their size: 37mm for the chronometer and 40mm for the chronograph. I'm usually dressed pretty casually, so these make great daily watches for me, I just recently changed from the silver dialed version to the blue milit...
