the last photo of the VC next to the Lange is great. Though both are three-hand watches I really prefer the more relaxed look of the VC, mainly due to the use of center seconds rather than sub-seconds. Bill

I would have preferred a manual movement inside the CR, but I would be happy with this watch. The funny thing is that there are common and very different details on the Lange and on the VC. The vision of the automatic movement is not the same, with a 3/4 ... 

with rezo-reset as for saxonia automatic models in 37mm case? The 3/4 rotor is composed of 21 carats gold and platinium on the out border, isn't it? Cheers, patrickh

The platinum is 40 000 Swiss Francs, but you have to add the VAT. I believe the RG is around 30 000 Euros, VAT included. Best, Nicolas

NIcolas, I have seen the LE of Chronometre Royal with red 12. I find it a subtle and harmonious decoration on the enamel dial. Without a doubt, it is a beauty. Regards Ling

if the hands were blue it would give it better clarity and perhaps more warmth. I also wonder if the outer railroad track were replaced by cabochans if that would add more depth to the dial??? John

That bloody platinum chrono royale with enamel dial is another one to die for. I would wish for 2 alterations to this watch, swap the crown for something less curvy and make it a solid case back (am I crazy) ... or better yet a manual wind, like you hinte... 

I would die for a manual movement on this CR! As for the crown, my opinion is that it is perfect for this elegant watch, and its curved shaped contributes to this, IMO. But a Manual movement, and a Red 12, and I jump on it! Let's wait and see what JLC wil... 

I've never seen the CR in Platinum. While I usually prefer rose gold, thats a watch I really like in Platinum, although as others suggested the hands might add a bit more life or color to it if they were blued steel. I absolutetly love the Malte Chrono fo... 

When I saw it once again in the flesh, maybe for the 10th time, I was saying to myself that all black, this dial would have been a pure marvel, something which would make me go on it! With this red ring for the second indexes, I had the feeling to see a L... 

I love that Platinum Royal! It just needs 'something' to break up the black and silver.... yet I still find it very very fine in pics. If I were spending real money on it, I think the lack of any color or 'break' in the monochromatic aspect... would be a ... 

I'm more disturbed by the Auto movement than on the almost monochromatic dial... But not disturbed enough to pass on it... A Red 12 would be the cherry on the cake, although... Best, Nicolas

I am going to a VC dinner tonight and I hope to see some of these there as well. But I must admit at the moment I am blinded by the American 1921 (which has the manual movement!). When the 1921 is in the room, I see no other. My plan is to wear something ...

I didn't just see it this night, I also tried it, and I fell under the charm... If VC decided to make it in platinum, it would really be difficult to not resist, but as it is, in RG, it is already a evileque watch! Best, 666.

I wonder if the extra weight of platinum would be problematic for the correct operation of the automatic winding system. It would certainly be problematic for the affordability of the watch! Bill

It's my favorite piece of those that you present in your post. The platinum Chronometre Royal is lovely, if a bit icy for my taste. I admire its pristine beauty despite the overall chilly aesthetic it exhibits. The movement displays some much needed warmt... 

I'm more and more impressed by these special pieces from VC. My absolute greatest shock was when I saw the Minute Repeater skeleton, in platinum: It was a real REVELATION, to me. As for the VC Chronomètre Royal, I love a lot this cold understated loo... 

the design of the face, the center seconds. But very sad it's 1. not a remontage manuel, and 2. Even if it was no.1, it's size is that 1mm away from my elusive border.... Just guess that VC still continues to elude me, time and time again! Now , where is ...
