I took issue neither with
diameter nor thickness. What I meant with “pudgy,” and I probably chose the wrong word, was that the case profile looks a little inelegant to me, for lack of another better word. (When many years ago I first handled a 44mm Speedmaster, which eventually became my first “good watch,” I said to the SA the case profile looked to me like a pressure cooker, hehe.)
Of the different metal versions, I think I’d prefer the fantastic platinum one, yet to be experienced.

I've never seen the Pt in person either. The steel is very nice in its own right, but it doesn't have the blue tachymeter scale, which is wonderful.
Could be a perfect modern VC watch...
