What a question!
When writing this, I have Aquanaut 5167/1A on my wrist. This a a fantastic every day watch. It's light, readable, slim, accurate and very low profile. And still of very high quality like all Pateks.
Vacheron Constantin 1921 is a fantastic watch with a very fine manual winding movement. This watch is also great with any kind of formal clothing.
Aquanaut 5617/R... It's a watch which looks like a sporting watch but it's heavier than the steel version and thanks to the gold case of the watch, it's far from being ideal for sports usage. I would not wear this watch with a formal suit. I can't imagine wearing a white shirt, cufflinks, dark blue suit and a watch with brown rubber strap!
I would get both Aquanaut 5617/1A and Historique 1921.
I like both apples and oranges but never compare those with each others.

no question in my mind. i might baulk if we were comparing a nautilus, but i find the vc in this case an obvious choice. beautiful, elegant, interesting, classic. love the dial. chris

It's unique and I have never liked 5617. If the question was 5711-15202 or 1921, my answer would be different.
