Personally for the 82172, I'd buy it in white gold. But that's just me. But my other favorite Tourbillon, the VC 6000T, I'd get in rose gold over white gold (they didn't make a white gold, but at one point they made a platinum version). It changes based on the watch. The Patek Philippe 5110 and 5130 I prefer the platinum, then the rose gold versions, then the yellow gold 5110, and I didn't like the white gold versions as much nor the 5130J. So for me it really depends on the piece. Some pieces I just happen to like them in white gold, some I like in rose gold, some I like in platinum. I know one fella near where I live who owns both the rose gold and white gold 82172! Gorgeous!

That is great question and the answer is not as easy as one might think! For this strap it was made both with curved pins and the strap was curved as well.
In this case I simply team my strap artisans it is for this watch and he knows what to do. If a strap is relatively flexible it is possible to get a normal straight strap and put curved pins on it and it will work but it really depends on the straps. I ha...
