WristScan

Well here we go.   A year or so ago, I had the pleasure of working a bit with the military watch expert and author of the "Vintage Military Wristwatches" Mr. Zaf Basha.

I have several very rare and elite commando and special forces clandestine organization team watches which are featured in Zaf's new book.

A- F No 075 is perhaps the biggest discovery I was able to make for 13e RDP which is a SEAL TEAM like special forces unit of the French Army that provided long range reconn of enemy positions during the 1980s before satelite survelance,  communications tapping and drones were feasible.

Should watch this film about the 13e RDP !

Other interesting watches are the Vietnam Olongapo diver Tudors. The UDT and SEAL TEAM 1 and 2 where the most notable soldiers that wore these Olongapo equiped diver watches.
The below watch was sold on consignment from the San Diego Naval Base.

And other submariners.

These are also among my favorites.  The Longines COSD. The solid gold COSD (left) is considered one of the rarest military associated watches. Only three have ever been seen. Also, inconclusive is the possibility that one of these is a prototype Longines COSD (Red Seconds Hand 6B/159)  It is a known fact that the first AT Oliver Longines Dive watches were built with 6B/159 Longines watches, this one is the same.

This British Naval spy last known mission was to perform reconn on I blieve a Soviet Warship at a military dockyard. He is wearing a black dialed Omega version of the COSD. It is pictured next to the AT Oliver Hydrographics Longines Dive watch the pre-dates the COSD.

As you can see this case is NOS which is very unusual and it is also Sterile which is again extremely unusual.
