Back when I started collecting over twenty years ago, I saw this Omega Constellation . . .

. . . posted on TimeZone. It was love at first sight.
😍
A few years later, Phil [log-in: hockey] posted a WTB on TZ for a racing Mk II. I had one. So I contacted Phil and we spoke at length about a potential trade. Finally, he said, "There are thousands of Mk IIs out there but I've never seen another engraved black dial Connie with rose gold hands and markers*, so I'm going to keep her."
I was crestfallen.
😞
Not a year later, Bill Sohne, our Omega forum moderator, posted the very same watch here.
😲
Apparently Phil and Bill had come to an arrangement, and now the object of my desire was in Bill's hands.
"Hey, Art, I can let you have it for $X."
🤑
Quicker than you can say 'central tourbillon', a cashier's check was sent next-day mail to Bill's New Jersey address. A week later, Black Connie was mine.
This . . .

. . . is my favorite dial.
🥰
Black Connie is exceptionally difficult to capture. Here's one of my better efforts . . .

. . . taken a few years ago with an iPhone8. The rose gold coloration of dial text, hands, and markers is spot on in this photo.

* I've since seen one other steel ref 2852 similarly fitted as well as a few ref 2652 bumper Connies with the same dial. MSN has a solid rose gold ref 2852 with the same dial, but I don't believe he has one cased in steel.
