Hello Fernando

Good to hear you are also an avid swimmer.

It is very humbling to aim for something colosal like the English Channel, Gulf of Gibaltrar, or the other Oceans 7 routes. I could have gone for New Zealand’s Cook’s Strait but it is fiercely guarded by a difficult man who makes bookings difficult for everyone (nevermind, maybe fate doesn’t want me to swim with Killer Whales and pegagic sharks)

The English Channel is a breeze to book, with 2 organizations doing the certification, and countless pilots who would guide you across.

Training is equally humbling, wish-washed with lots of quasi-gurus and commercially driven coaches. In the end I found that I don’t need a coach, and the Garmin is the main way to track my performance for adjustments.

Cheers and I hope you aim for one of these Oceans 7 too.
