I’d seen the various iterations of this watch over the years but not really paid close attention. Then I started to look seriously at the 40mm white gold - moon phase calendar model. I thought that the size would work better. I saw all models in a recent visit to London and the Chronograph was my clear favorite. I like the fact that this is the only model where the foudroyant does not run continuously. Also I think that pink gold works well on this model and will blend nicely as the patina on the Maillechort movement bridges develops over time. The standard of finishing on the movement is also very highly - well above the standards of the Master Control line and closer to their Grande Tradition standards. All the little things add up to incredible value for money in this one. The only issue is the strap size - at 80/120 it’s too large for me so I have an ABP Concept 70/115 custom that I’m collecting later this month from their store in Paris.
