. . . Dad's b-day happens to coincide with Mother's Day this year, so I get to treat them both with Sunday breakfast.

A classic look from a period that created so many timeless watches.

. . . a gift to Dad from his eldest brother, which he wore daily for ~ nine years until he had it serviced in the UK in '65. He switched to a Seiko Sea Lion for everyday wear, and saved the Longines for special occasions. Both are now in my collection ;-)... 

but extra special with the family connection. Sadly I don't have any watches that have passed through the family, but I'm planning on passing a few of my own on. The only problem is I have only duaghters - do you think they'll go for Thirties pilots watch...

. . . it was powered up and on my wrist for about four hours yesterday; after ~ 18 hours on the dresser, it's lost five seconds. Not bad for a 55 year old watch that gets very little wrist time . . .

. . . had an identical Conquest to the one I just posted, but with gold hands and markers as yours. Unfortunately, it was lost during a burglary. Believe it or not, the only items stolen were the Longines and a bottle of Johnnie Walker . . .

I am sorry that you were visited by thieves and goods are stolen. It's something I fear to see my house upside-down and things scattered. Although I work as investigating police , I also sometimes suffer from thieves. But not yet in my house. If I may be ...

It is a bad picture, unfortunately, that I took right after I bought the watch for ca 2 years ago. It is not clean but keeps time very well It was manufactured in 1956 and the reference number is 9002 . According to Longines Vintage group it was17 Novembe...
