...no watch on a Island... Or I would prefer a bottle (or more ) of good wine (depending on the storage facilities located on this very remoted Island For longer storage would I take the 2009... OR, I could take a good and proven beater with me... A SM300...  

... it will be dusty or sandy, potentially watery environment. Therefore, robust, at least 10 bar water resistance. And at the same time, reliable, comfort to look at, and feel happy to wear..... and you may lose lots of weight, thus smaller watch may fit...

Keeps perfect time and should never need a service or repair. Critical for a desert island... ...  

A Casio Protrek/pathfinder. The solar and ABC functions would be useful, the radios maybe not at all. Last would be a GPS watch which gave me my position as well as time.

Tested by special forces, 300m water resistance, chrono just in case you need to time sometime like navigation (or gourmet desert island cooking), auto and built like a tank. Apologies for the horrid pic (definitely no pic of the week here unless Andrew i...  

It has a durable PVD coating and the best thing is it has my name engraved in the solid caseback (for those who aren't Panerai fans, Panerai engraved each PAM195 owner's name into the solid caseback) so that way if no one rescues me in time and my body ge...
