The things that make this one interesting…
· The back-setting of the Cal. 214 movement. You flip up the small handle with your fingernail to set the time.
· The access hatch for an annual battery replacement. You can use a coin and replace the battery in less than a minute.
· The date code at the bottom by the serial number says N0 (n – zero). It indicates a1970 manufacture year, so this baby has been in action for about 53 years.
· The back is made in two parts. A main middle section and a very thin outer securing ring. The battery hatch and setting device must stay aligned with the movement so the threaded ring holds it all together.
After all these years, it still runs well and keeps pretty good time. The battery lasts about a year.
